Right now. The game is available on Steam Early Access. Come join the fun: http://store.steampowered.com/app/368680/
The game has been developed with PC and consoles in mind. Currently the game is up and running on PC. You can play it now on Steam. And we are working towards console versions as well. We would like to support Linux and Mac as well, but can't make any promises there yet.
Kind of. Its more of a vastly upgraded version of a previous game called Mutant Alien Assault which you can play here: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/606076 . That was the first game I ever made, and it was more of a learning experience than anything else. The game did not live up to the vision I had for it, mainly due to the fact that I was learning programming and game development as I went. With the experience I gained and a lot more knowledge under my belt I want to make the game I originally envisioned. I will of course be talking on board all the feedback and complaints I received about the first game. With a rating of 4.45 out of 5 (on newgrounds at the time of writing this) I think I've got a good foundation to build this upgraded version on.
- A tighter, better structured, and more varied, intense arcade experience.
- Huge array of primary weapons.
- Sidearms, your backup when your primary runs out of ammo.
- Secondary explosives, a powerful alternative to your primary weapon.
- Defense moves, your best friend in tight corner.
- Special abilities, crazy new abilities you will come to rely on.
- Perks, because this games damn hard and you need all the help you can get.
- More aliens, of course.
- Player skins. No hats.
- Boss fights.
- New level modes.
- Different every time you play. Permadeath and randomization doing their thing.
- Fully customisable controls using gamepads or keyboard.
- Local co-op for two players.
Without warning, aliens attacked earth. The assault was swift and devastating. Three spaceship fleets managed to escape the doomed earth. Each headed to a different galaxy in search of a habitable planet. Unfortunately, they were being tracked. With the humans aboard in cryofreeze it’s up to the lowly security droids to save humanity. Hyperjump from ship to ship fighting off the alien assault.
Weapons - You get primary weapons from vending machines but each has limited ammo. When it’s gone you will automatically switch to your sidearm. But you better pick up another weapon sharpish, as the sidearm is weaker and just for backup. New weapons and sidearms unlock as you play the game.
Explosives - Grenades and other explosives come courtesy of explosive vending machines. Be careful as you’ll get hurt by any splash damage if you don’t stay clear of the explosions.
Defense Moves - Defense moves will get you out of a bind. Dodge, dash, teleport... you know the drill. You only get one, each run, but once equipped its yours to use without limits. Be sure to use it often.
Special Abilities - Varied and versatile abilities. Limited by how much special ammo you can pickup. You only get one, but whether its triggering bullet time, or hacking the vending machines, it always adds a new dimension to combat.
Perks - Some are passive abilities like radiation, which gives you special ammo over time, and some are active abilities like double jump. Either way, they will help you survive. You guessed it, you only get one each play through.
Level Objectives - There are handful level objectives to mix up the action. To name a few, sometimes you just have to survive. Other times you'll be running fuel rods to the reactor. And the hardest of the lot is probably the boss fights, as they should be.
Crates - Wonderful crates. Always a welcome relief to see one of these teleport into the battlefield. It might contain one of your equip-able items, or that much needed heart. There are many items that can drop from crates, some even hurt if you're not careful. So open with care.
